Little Dragon

A technique experimentation piece, practicing with detailed block cutting as well as ink mixing. After carving, the negative space around the dragon was trimmed away, and the block was cut to separate the head from the neck. This left two blocks which could be inked up separately and matched together like puzzle pieces when being printed. The inks were an attempt to achieve a very translucent yet stiff ink, which was somewhat successful but the block had to be hand printed with a barren to prevent ink bleeding.
